Our designs infuse Philippine culture into our products, sans the typical “handycrafty” look. Most of our products are made of paper, fabric, leather and natural materials that are indigenous to our country. These meticulously-made products, with the polished look of items executed with the precision of machines, but which are surprisingly hand-made, are world-class and have garnered several international awards under its mother Company, Craft Mill, and through some of the global clientele of Craft Mill.
Grassroots products were conceptualized to serve a market that seeks a lifestyle that is compact, organized, mobile and multifunctional.
Our products are versatile and well-crafted, with everything hand-done for a good fit.
The refreshing simplicity of our products, combined with their multi-functions, make them suitable for a more discriminating market. The neat and clever technique with which we put these items together have merited notice not only from local customers, but also from the export expat community in our current stores. The merchandise selection and mix attract both young urban professionals and mature shoppers as well.
Grassroots items are becoming increasingly popular accents that can be used both in public areas and private residences. Both the stores and the merchandise have been singled out and featured in several glossy magazines and newspaper articles.
98% of Grassroots products are Philippine-Made.
94% of Grassroots products are proudly hand-made by its mother company, Craftmill, except fot the dinnerware, wire lamps, and bone-china lamps
About the Designer
Jean Guerrero-Bautista is a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Interior Design, at the College of the Holy Spirit – a German-run institution that is strong in the Arts & Sciences.
For Twenty-eight years, she has been the sole designer of the Company, and has tirelessly poured her passion & energy into the multi-awarded export firm that she established in 1987 – Craft Mill, Inc. While gently evolving in design, Craft Mill products have retained their distinct taste, character & workmanship through two decades, such that their works are easily recognized by customers in different parts of the globe, even without the Craft Mill or Grassroots label.
A nationalist, Jean derives her inspiration from the wealth of indigenous materials that are native to the Philippines, and which would generate livelihood in the rural areas. The business has been a source of endless challenges for her to create enduring products that utilize natural materials, stay within a price-range of acceptability, & breathe into them some sophistication, originality, and international appeal.
Jean’s musts when designing; clean lines, impeccable workmanship, handsome colors, functionality, timeless appeal & value-for-money.
